Denise Gamble is currently a music teacher in the Armstrong School District, Kittanning Junior High School where she teaches seventh grade general music and chorus. She is a Student Council Advisor and is director for junior high musical productions, now in its seventh season. Ms. Gamble has been an Armstrong District employee for 20 years. She graduated from Kiski Area High School in 1976 and attended college at Morehead State University, Morehead, Kentucky. After her 1980 graduation with a Bachelor of Music with teacher certification degree, she received a graduate assistantship to attend Kent State University, Kent, Ohio. She graduated in 1982 with a Master of Music degree. Ms. Gamble has always enjoyed music, especially playing her French horn. Some of her private teachers include: Mike Lamendola, Dr. David McNaughton, Milford Kuhn, Mary Gingrich, David Kimball, Milan Yancich, Phillip Farkas and Forrest Stanley. She performed with the Lexington Philharmonic while a student at Morehead State and is currently principle horn with the Butler Symphony Orchestra, section horn with the Johnstown Symphony, member of the Armstrong Brass Quintet, Butler Symphony Woodwind Quintet, Three Rivers Horn Quartet and the Pittsburgh Horn Club. Other activities that consume Ms. Gamble’s life are scrapbooking and Pirate baseball.
